 The mission of the Center for Cancer Computational Biology (CCCB) is to further the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s commitment to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. We aim to do that by providing broad-based support for the analysis and interpretation of ‘omic data and in doing so further basic, clinical, and translational research and to conduct research that opens new ways of understanding human cancer.



The CCCB has two primary programmatic areas. The first is a consulting platform that aims to provide state-of-the-art assistance experimental programs in the collection, management, analysis, and interpretation of large-scale data with a focus on data generated using ‘omic technologies. To achieve that goal, our bioinformatics consultants and staff will work closely with investigators at Dana-Farber and in the broader research community to assist in designing experiments and in analyzing and interpreting the data. We offer consulting services to assist you directly with your research as well as training in various analyses and software tools. Previously registered users of our system can login to monitor the progress of their work and to access the results.

In recognition that many emerging problems in genomic data analysis may require the development of new methods, the CCCB will also maintain an active research program focused on the development of new methods for improving analysis and interpretation of genomic data through integration with information derived from other sources, including the vast body of publicly available data. Software and tools developed through the CCCB will be made freely-available to the research community.
